Century Machines

A close friend approached my girlfriend and I to do a cd sleeve for his band's new demo cd. I originally didn't know anything about this until 2 days before he needed these done but, he was looking for something handmade and a little different from just putting the CD into a plastic case or cardboard sleeve and making some quick cover work. Christine created these amazing sleeves with a nice cut at the bottom for the cd to go in.
I had not known much about what they were looking to do until the day before these showed up on my table and ready to be painted. Because it was last minute, Mike, my friend in the band, gave me a lot of freedom to come up with something that would be a quick stencil. I definitely didn't have time to create any multi layered stencils with only 2 days to create this on my free time.  All he really told me was make something that looks organic and goes a bit with the song "Wild Wind." This is what I came up with:

The Stencil, being cut down.
All of them had to be stenciled...
Filling in.
Me working hard on painting.
Drying on my floor.
Finished Product.
The pile of finished sleeves.
The used and abused stencil.

All in all, I think this turned out to be a success and they were pleased with the finished product and are thinking about turning this into a series so I'll be able to come up with some more and possibly better ideas for stencil pieces.
